Fine Pre-Owned Swiss Watches Ramping up at Princeton Watches

We've been finding quite a bit of treasure lately and we've added over 20 fine pre-owned watches to the pre-owned watch section of our site in the past week or so.  Check our Fine Pre-Owned Watches page for all our new listings, but below is one of our favorite finds because it's just so classy:

Jaeger Le Coultre Master Control Automatic

This watch was produced in 2007 or 2008, so it's nearly new and in  mint condition.

It's all Jaeger LeCoultre, all the "time" (pardon the pun) including the Jaeger LeCoultre 32 Jewel movement and orginal Jaeger strap and folding clasp.

It's an elegant classic from a classic watch maker and the simple white face and alligator strap will make a statement anywhere you wear it.

All Pre-Owned watches from Princeton Watches are warranted by us for 6 months from the date of purchase unless noted otherwise on the listing for individual watches.  If the watch stops working or has a significant timekeeping problem, we will service the watch at our expense.

Victorinox Swiss Army 125th Anniversary Limited Edition Watch

Venerable Victorinox was born 125 years ago in 1884 when Karl Elsener and his mother Victoria opened a cutlery workshop in a small town in Switzerland.  Today, the Elsener family still owns Victorinox, which actually assumed the name Victorinox in 1921 when Karl coined the name, combining his mother's name, Victoria, with "inox" an abbreviation for the french name of the new "stainless" steel, which is "inoxydable"

Victorinox Swiss Army is celebrating big in 2009, since it's also the 20th anniversary of their Swiss Army Watch line.  Thus we have the gorgeous watch on the right.  Only 125 were produced worldwide and only about 40 are available for sale in the US, the others going to the rest of the world.

We currently have just one Swiss Army 125th Anniversary Watch at PrincetonWatches.com although we tried to get more since Victorinox Swiss Army limited editions are always hot.  Understandably, Victorinox decided to make more of their US retailers happy instead of just a few. Reactor Trident Never Dark in New Colored Dials

Just released and now online at Princeton Watches, the latest Reactor Trident watches in yellow, white and khaki dials.  Reactor Trident was an instant hit when released last fall, because it combines the best of both worlds in watch illumination.

Reactor's proprietary method of applying SuperLuminova tested best in independent testing a few years ago.  Their method increases the performance of SuperLuminova and is very effective when the eyes are first adjusting to the dark or moving repeatedly from light to dark.  Reactor's Superluminova is 5 times brighter than tritium and glows longer than SuperLuminova or other materials on other watch brand faces.

• Reactor Trident Never Dark watches also have tritium tubes that glow for many years.  This combination gives you illumination all night, which is easily visible once your eyes are well adjusted to the dark (the Superluminova covers you until then.)

Watch lovers seem to be starting to tag Tweets with  #watches, although not widespread.

For Twitter newbies, hashtags are tags created by the use of "#" before a term.  For example as of this posting, #news gets about 1000 tags a day  but #watches only a few.  Let's have more #watches posts!

You can use the search in the Twitter sidebar to find tweets with the hashtag you are interested in.  This is handy for #watches since not every post with the word "watches" in it is about watches, obviously, since it's a common English word.  A post tagged #watches definitely should be about watches.

Other cool sites related to Twitter hashtags are http://www.hashtweeps.com/ which allows you to search for users that are using a particular tag, and especially hashtags.org which not only shows all related hashtags when you search, but shows a nice graph with trends. 

Land Bigger Fish with a Reactor Watch!

Congratulations to Team Reactor watch.  They pulled off a last minute upset by pulling in a 135 lb tarpon, in the final minutes of the Ladies Day competition at the Miller High Life Professional Tarpon Tournament Series in Boca Grande Pass Florida.

To reel in the prize, Team Reactor and the other teams battled high winds, murky water and even sharks, yikes!

We know the Reactor tag line is "the best built sport watch, period." Once again they live up to the claim.

A 134-pound tarpon catch was in the the lead, but with only 10 minutes left in regulation time, Capt. Jay Wither's Team Reactor Watch radioed in with a hook up.

Within 20 minutes, Team Reactor Watch landed the fish and headed for the Ale House weighboat. The fish tipped the Tires Plus scale at 135 pounds.

"It was awesome!" Team Reactor Captain Jay Withers said. "The girls did a great job hooking and fighting the fish. The teamwork was unbeatable."

With the victory, Team Reactor received first prize of $10,000. Second place went to Team Sign Zoo/GiantTarpon.com, who received $5,000. Team CaptainWillBurbach.com, Yamaha F350, and MyEls.com finished 3rd, 4th, and 5th, respectively.

The Miller High Life PTTS presented by Century Boats is the largest and richest live-release tarpon tournament in the world, featuring five regular season events and one championship event all held in Boca Grande Pass, Fla.

My personal sports preference doesn't include exposing my my watch to 135 pound writhing objects and scrubbing fish scales out of my Reactor links, but I know Reactor watches sure can take it.  Of course, you can shop Princeton Watches for a complete selection of Reactor watches, and get free shipping and a free Reactor Pen, good while supplies last.

The New Citizen Skyhawk ATs are in and are flying out our shipping dock to the customers who pre-ordered them and continue to order them.  I grabbed a Skyhawk AT to take a look and it's a very nice-looking very wearable watch, and I think the best looking, most comfortable on the wrist, Citizen Skyhawk yet.

Are Watches Obsolete?

Many blogs and news reports over the last 6 months or so have proclaimed that with today's cell phones and other electronics being practically a body appendage, especially with young people, the wristwatch is becoming a dinosaur.  Will  we be saying "back in the day" regarding watches anytime soon?
